Inspiration in the most unusual places.....The Male Sex in the City

I'm sure you've heard of it, Californication, the Shotwtime original series starring David Duchovny (yes, that dude from the X-files). From a male chauvinistic, standpoint.....An abundance of Ass, Titties, and Big Booty Bitches. From an artistic standpoint.......Genius. They have created this character, a writer, who epitomizes most artist's creative processes. He composes his breakout piece, then abruptly finds life less than inspiring. He is constantly told he should be writing more...but doesn't. I relate extremely well to this fictional character, why?, i see those same actions and lack thereof in my own artistic endeavors. I've been told im good....really good, but I'm still reluctant to create the works i know I'm capable of, why?, who knows, possibly an extreme sense of self-criticism and modesty? Whatever...I'm working on it!

I am most intrigued at how accurate the lifestyle portrayal is, there is a skewed psychology in the mind of an artist. I'm psyched that this series portrays that in a modern fashion, and believably. The excessive exposure of Tit-tays isn't bad either.

Good Job Showtime.

Oh and as a counter measure against my artistic dormancy, i purchased supplies from art systems to continue my series....What Bitches!!???

So, it is settled, Barack Obama is our next President. I am enthralled mainly because of what his election represents. It is the collapse of the traditional middle-aged white male political regime. Tradition is thrown out and change, as cliche as that term has become, is a reality. Although i can't imagine how my elders felt, seeing a half black man become elected President when 50 some years ago they were fighting and dying for the right to even participate in an election.

In was no doubt intense, and even more surreal when friends began to call me, weeping tears of exuberance, Damn thats powerful.

With all that being said, i can't help but notice the watchful eyes of the public, on his decisions as President Elect as well as President. Its a recurring situation when any minority gets into a position of power, watchful eyes wait for a mistake or any sort of stereotypical action to validate societies predisposed stereotypes. With watchful eyes, people are waiting... hoping for the opportunity to say, "see, thats why a [black man] can't run, and shouldn't run this country."
